Invasive Species Awareness Week (ISAW) takes place annually in the last week of February. The goal of this week is to come together to increase awareness about the impacts of invasive species and how we can protect natural spaces.
Thank you for participating in ISAW 2025. Here are some of the highlights:
- 130+ organizations across Canada participated on social media and other digital platforms
- 250+ people attended ISAW partner group-hosted events throughout the week
- Posts on ISC channels received 50,000+ impressions and 2,300+ engagements
Education and outreach play an important role in safeguarding natural spaces from the impacts of invasive species. We encourage you to now take the knowledge you learned and shared during ISAW and put it into action! You can learn more about becoming a community scientist here.

Together, our actions help raise awareness about the importance of preventing the spread of invasive species.
The Invasive Species Centre and our partners lead this annual campaign in Canada to help raise awareness about the threat that invasive species pose to our natural heritage. Each year, many organizations support Invasive Species Awareness Week to make it a huge success.
Thank you for taking part in Invasive Species Awareness Week and everything you do to protect the land and water from invasive species!
